Dar Si Jati Hei Sila Episode 12 – Extremely Emotional!

This drama has some of the most amazing performances to its credit and although all the actors are doing complete justice to their characters but Yumna Zaidi clearly stands out the most and manages to steal the show every single time. Yumna Zaidi deserves an award for her performance in this drama because even when she has to translate Sila’s feelings on screen without uttering a single dialogue she does so exceptionally well.

This episode showed that Sila was still in shock, staying silent was her way of protesting and taking control of a situation she had absolutely no control over. Raheel and Sila’s scenes together were brilliantly directed and acted-out. Raheel has made up his mind and nothing his mother says will change his point of view. He no longer sees Sila as an annoying person who cannot even look out for her own self but he can see that she is someone who needs help and support. Raheel supports Sila not because he feels sorry for her but because he genuinely cares for her which makes his character truly likeable. If it wasn’t for Zaini’s lecture, Raheel wouldn’t have seen things differently. I love the contrast between the old generation and the new one, they look at things in a completely different manner. While Bari Aapa spends all her time and energy belittling Sila and Sadia, Raheel and Zaini invest their efforts into understanding the reasons behind Sila’s strange behaviour in particular and practically help out whenever possible.

Although Sila didn’t say a single word tonight but everything that she was going through was easy to relate to and understand because of the way these scenes had been written and directed. Sila has definitely fallen for Raheel, the way she looks at him says a great deal about how she feels about him. After finding out the truth about Hatim, Sila’s attitude towards him changed completely, something which Hatim sensed instantly. Hatim’s scenes were very touching as well. He was being punished for something which wasn’t his fault at all and he could only wonder why his mother never loved him. Sadia constantly took out his frustrations and anger on him making him a scapegoat because she blames him for all of her problems. The actor playing Hatim’s role has also been performing superbly, he is well-suited for the role and unlike many other newcomers his age, his focus is entirely on his performance. Saman Ansari continues to impress as Sadia and Nauman Ijaz is beyond brilliant as Joi. Everyone’s acting in this drama is completely natural.

Bari Aapa has decided that Joi and Sila should not get married and she was shown busy finding the perfect match for her perfect brother! Bari Aapa is the one responsible for the closed and suffocating environment in Noor Manzil. She is the one who brought Joi to this haveli and she is the one he gets all his powers from. Bari Aapa’s husband doesn’t have a bigger role to play in the house, he is too busy running the business and is hardly around which is why he has never noticed what goes on around the house.

This episode ended at an interesting note. Overall, this episode was emotional and effective as usual. I must say that while watching tonight’s episode I was thinking about all those girls who are abused on daily basis within their own homes. I absolutely love this show because it has so much going for it. Making such dramas isn’t easy but team Dar Si Jati Hei Sila has done a commendable job so far. The preview of the next episode yet again suggested that Raheel might be the first one to find out what is going on between Joi and Sadia. Raheel and Zaini’s characters have been etched-out brilliantly and translated on screen beautifully. They have to be the best on-screen characters of this season.

Khudgarz Episode 11 & 12 Review – Phenomenal!

Ohkay so, I must say this drama is one intelligent piece of writing which has also been executed intelligently because of which, it leaves an impact on the viewer even after the episode ends. The way the writer has dealt with all the characters while keeping their personalities distinct & strong makes this drama a treat to tune to. I am also glad that Khudgarz has turned out to be quite unpredictable & because the negative character’s secrets are being revealed slowly & steadily, you can’t really foresee what he’s upto!

I felt this time around the writer tried to shed a light on Hassan’s perspective by telling what actually went wrong in his life & may be because of that reason, when I saw him shedding tears, I kind of felt for him. Hassan not only lost the love of his life but the thing that he was passionate about i-e bike riding also caused him pain & turned his world upside down. Hassan had serious injuries but even though he recovered physically from it, the emotional scars haven’t healed yet. His lady love Sara also left him which added more to his woes & I guess in the middle of it all, he saw that his father was going to dance to his tunes as he blindly trusted & over sympathized with him, which now has become a reason behind Hassan’s destruction. It is sad that in stead of showing Hassan the right path, Munawwar goes out of the way to extend support to him even when he knows that his son is or might be wrong. I feel this is the main reason why Hassan has become so bitter because Munawwar has given him the edge that he can do whatever he wants to, to later get away with it!

Aairah was obviously feeling uneasy with Hassan’s attitude as she could feel that he was upto some mischief but she was unable to put a finger on it. She definitely had no idea that Hassan would assassinate her character by blaming her of something she couldn’t even think of!

I must say, the best part of this entire episode was a showdown between Aairah & Munawwar where Aairah not only gave it back to Hassan but also showed Munawwar a mirror for all of his wrongdoings. No wonder Hassan has turned out to be like this because he takes it after his father in both; unreasonability & being wrong. I loved seeing how Aairah stood up for herself & asked Munawwar the reasons as to why he got her married to Junaid when all he had to do was insult her, question her presence in the house & doubt her loyalties & intentions, while still knowing that she could never do something like this!

It was sad that Inayat ended up being a part of Hassan’s plan, I am sure it was because he is in need of money but I don’t know why I have a feeling that he might lose his baby & will then confess about his lies. The way Inayat distanced himself from Aairah & couldn’t meet eyes with her went to show that he was feeling guilty already as he knew what was coming her way. I must say I loved the way they showed that Aairah didn’t mind apologizing from Inayat, this is something which needs to be conveyed & reinforced because even in other dramas, everyone is shown to be insulting the servants left, right & center so it was a nice change!

Junaid & Aairah’s relation on the other hand was also refreshing to see. It was sad that for a moment Aairah doubted Junaid, it showed that when Hassan was negative & impolite, she didn’t pay heed to anything that he said but now that he was posing to be nice & sweet, his whispers overtook her thoughts & she couldn’t see anything beyond that & ended up doubting Junaid’s loyalty. Junaid & Aairah both have proved their love to each other that is why Aairah didn’t let the suspicion get the better of her!

I don’t know but it was a bit unconvincing that Aairah’s father didn’t bother telling his only daughter that he was moving to USA & most importantly, he was selling their house? No matter what, I don’t think any father can be so aloof or so busy to not bother telling his daughter about such an important detail!

I loved the way Abeer gave it back to her nosey colleague, like it was nice to see such a confident & happy Abeer who felt secured after her marriage with someone who respected & loved her. Even though Aairah brought her out of the depression but the one who introduced her to real happiness is Raheel. Abeer’s mother also contacted her & started spending time with her but I have a feeling that she was hiding something from Abeer about her husband as she grew uncomfortable when Abeer asked her a basic question.

Overall, I once again had a great time watching this episode of Khudgarz. Sami Khan took the crown this week with his phenomenal acting, followed by Amina Sheikh who also stole the show. I can’t wait to see the dynamics after Junaid’s return. Rida Bilal & Yasir Nawaz should take a bow for bringing such an amazing drama to the table. It sure is a treat to watch. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Khudgarz.

Alif Allah Aur Insaan Episode 40 Review – Disasterous!

Seriously, this drama is past that stage where people would take it seriously. Everything that has been happening in this drama now seems like a joke & all this is because they chose not to end it at the right time.

Everytime I see Zimmal, I am reminded of the tormenting fact that it was because of this girl that this drama was extended & when I see a very bad acting & equally bad character portrayal, my blood boils. Zimmal is going to get her happy ending after 1 failed marriage, 1 tragic end of an engagement, so are we supposed to shed a tear or two out of sheer happiness? Seriously!?!

I really wonder why Zimmal & Co. were introduced as art students because it served no purpose whatsoever. Shaheer, Zimmal & Arsalan looked like anything but art students & Roshni should’ve been a detective. I guess they will only be using this connection to make Roshni end up with Basit which is a perfect case of mismatch & looks forced. All this while people thought it would be Zimmal who’d be with Basit since there was so much of focus on her but now in the end but now it is going to be a 5th or may be a 6th lead; Roshni? LOL! Looks like after weeks & weeks of showing people failing at love, the writer is trying to give everyone a happy ending which seems anything but happy!

Oh so yes, Roshni ended up solving the case in a jiffy which again brings me to my point that none of these guys had the personality or traits of an art student so they should’ve been shown as what they looked like; Shaheer as a Punjabi movie hero, Zimmal as a Punjabi movie heroine, Roshni as a detective & Arsalan as a back bencher in any university who’d laugh at his own jokes crying to get someone’s attention! No idea what was police doing all this while though!

Boo hoo Nawazish’s wife left & he was after Reena. This entire track seems like a joke to me, like from where it began to how it is going to end. I’ve got nothing to say about it!

Nazneen & her Kurta had some hissy fits which actually made me laugh. Obviously, she is bound to lose her sanity after all she successfully failed at 3 marriages which ain’t an easy feat. Chalo, at least she did introspect & realized how wrong she was in the past but again, none of it made an impact because it came too late! It is funny how Basit has become.a 7th or 8th lead & is nowhere to be seen? This is what happens when the purpose of a character, its journey & story on the whole is lost. Anyways, please share your thoughts about this episode of Alif Allah Aur Insaan.

Dil Nawaz Episodes 18-20 Review-Entertaining!

This show is simply entertaining and the major cause for that is its different and intriguing storyline. A lot of despair was surrounding Dil Nawaz and Fawad’s relationship after she was imprisoned by Alam Ara but the tables turned as nature struck and Alam Ara is no more. Alam Ara was finally confronted for her actions by her sister and that along with her deteriorating health took a toll on her and she finally was no more. After Alam Ara’s demise, Dil Nawaz is now free and with Jahan Ara having no intentions to enslave her, she can do whatever she wants.

The Baba Jee mystery was also solved and the man who helps Kiran is none other than Alam Ara and Jahan Ara’s father. But is it his soul or is he a creature from another realm? These questions still stand in place. Jahan Ara is all alone now and since Tauseef is helping her, she would most probably end up with him. A black cord given by Baba Jee to Kiran helped Fawad to come to his senses and realize what is happening around him. He is a Devdas now and suddenly from I can even die for Dil Nawaz, he went to Go die Dil Nawaz. The other mystery which was solved today made me hate Fawad’s character. He married Dil Nawaz on his own will. Dil Nawaz made it clear that she was not controlling him on that and wanted him to love her with his whole heart. And still, he proved to be an extremely bad choice for her as well as for Kiran because he has deceived both of them.

Kiran’s fiance was a good man as was looking like from the start and when Rasheeda told him about Fawad and Kiran’s relationship, he cleared her way by taking the whole blame on himself. Yes, Rasheeda became a manipulator again and also won at it. And they are still making him look bad. At least Kiran should have cleared everything in front of her mom. This show has really gone to a top level of excitement with everyone getting proper screen time and the story is directed beautifully.

Fawad’s U-turn is not looking very acceptable and Wahaj was not his best in all scenes but Neelam once again was at the top of her game. She expressed Dil Nawaz’s desperation with complete accuracy and her jealousy with Kiran was also a thing to watch otherwise such scenes are always annoying but Neelam made them entertaining. Another character who is getting the edge of all swords is Kiran’s mother and Kiran is not a farmanbardar bacchi after all.

Looking forward to the next episode as the preview shows that Fawad’s father will finally have a clue about what is going on in his son’s life!

Tau Dil Ka Kya Hua Episode 24 Review – Another Rejection!

This is one of those dramas which I look forward to watching every week but lately the long gaps with which a new episode is being aired by HUM has definitely killed the fun of watching this play and also the anticipation!! By the time a new episode airs, you have completely forgotten how the previous episode made you feel and why exactly were you looking forward to the next one especially because Tau Dil Ka Kya Hua has a complicated storyline and obviously the flow is totally disrupted when a new episode does not air every week. There are many dramas which are stretched because they are getting the ratings which a certain channel wants, this drama however is going to go down in history as one of those dramas which is being stretched for no reason at all and that too not by the producers but by the channel!!

Every episode of this drama focuses on a certain aspect of love and the way it govern relationships and people’s lives. This episode too focused on just that and this time around most of the characters talked about how you can end up hating someone you once loved. Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar’s philosophy regarding love is always really interesting and it has so many different angles. I loved all those conversations tonight which were not only meaningful but also kept you guessing. Even at this point, it is impossible to predict the behavior of these characters. Zoya’s refusal and the reason she gave for not going ahead with her marriage with Faris was the highlight of this episode. Even though Zoya does not shower her sister with love any more but she does not want to get married to her ex-husband because she feels she would be betraying her sister if she did that.

Siraj Uncle’s conversation with Dariya gave hope that she might come back. I would still love to see Faris and Dariya ending up with each other. Even though Siraj Uncle told Dariya that she should come back only after Faris gets married but this could be his way of telling her that she still had a chance. Even now, I miss Dariya’s character and Mansha Pasha’s performance a lot. Saif’s scene was short and extremely confusing, at this point he should be getting more screen time since the drama should wrap up now especially because it has been dragged a great deal by the channel.

Like every other episode of this play, this one too had some brilliant performances to its credit. Sami Khan, Ayeza Khan and Imran Ashraf in particular have been absolutely faultless throughout. The characters they are playing are anything but run of the mill yet they manage to bring out the best in them every single time.Sami Khan has made a not-so-likeable character not just likeable but also charming. Imran Ashraf has portrayed different shades of Tipu’s personality beautifully on screen and Ayeza Khan outshines in a different role. This play has been directed exceptionally well too, the director and the actors deserve all the appreciation for a job well done.
